1. I try to connect but the computer doesn't
connect and show mIRC Wizard's
window.

* Check the dialler (if you are connecting to the
internet.
* The problem can be in the irc server you
choose
---- Check your mirc properties.
---- Try to connect to another server.
* Check your software (maybe you installed a
mirc for windows 95/98 and you have
windows 3.x).
* Try another programs (netscape, E-mail etc.), if
you have problems in those programs maybe it
is a general problem, call our tech support.

2. How to open a channel ?

* Type: /join #channel_name . The channel_name
should be a name which doesn't exist. Example:
if you want to open a new channel whose
name is mychannel, you have to
type: join/mychannel.

3. What the @ sign before the name
means ?

* A person with @ (op) before his nickname is a
channel operator. The channel operator has an
access to specials command which calls "mode-
commands" (whoever isn't a channel operator
isn't have ability to command commands such
as: give @, change the topic, kick user etc.).

4. How I become a channel operator ?

* By creating a new channel,which in that
channel you become a channel operator
automatically.
* If the channel operator in the cahnnel you are,
gives you @ you become channel operator.

5. Why the computer disconnect from the
irc server when i try to get the
list channels ?

* The reason cause in the server which is loaded
and sensitive. When you ask for the list
channels you try to download a lot of data
to your computer. Your request is situated
in the server in his temporary storage data.
In specific time the temporary storage data is
been crowded and in that time the server
protect himself and disconnect from the
program.
* If it disconnect regularly, connect to another
server which isn't as sensitive as that server.

6. What are the main servers in the irc?

* There are 4 main servers:
DALNET, EFNET, UNDERNET, NEWNET.

7. If i talk in a certain server, would it
possible to talk to a person from other
server?

* No. There is a separation between all servers.

8. What is the meaning of the Ping Pong
in the status window?

* The Ping Pong is a result of the server which
check if you still connect to the irc server, and
it appears when the connection to the server is
bad.If the Ping Pong message appears on screen
consistencly connect to another server.

9. What is DCC?

* DCC is Direct Client to Client and mean a
direct connection of one computer to another.
the connection in that mode is improved
compared to the ordinary one (the other side
receive immediately your message instead of
the ordinary connection which take sometimes
few seconds until your message will recieve).
Also in that form of communication you can
send files.

10. How do i send files in DCC?

* Press "DCC" and "Send" (or Alt+S).
* Type the nickname of the user you want to
send your files.
* Choose your file you want to be sent.
* Press "Send".
