Updates & bug fixes - WaveGenerator 1.5

For the 1.5 version the WaveGenerator has undergone a major rewrite resulting in much better stability & a slight improvement in speed. The plug-in is now Modeless (which means you can continue working in TS after you’ve opened the plug-in) which translates in TS3.1 to the ability to switch between objects (after the plug-in has been opened) to use all the navigation tools & most of the rendering tools, in TS3.2 & up this translates into the ability to work with just about any tool while the plug-in is open.

Also many other fixes & improvements have been integrated into this version , including :

1. A new Circular Wave type has been added (not to be confused with ripples) which is basically a circular version of the regular sinus based waves.

2. A new & very useful graphical interface has been added to the ripple / circular-wave HotSpot selection.

3. A new file saving / loading ability has been added to the WaveGenerator enabling the user to save & later reload the configuration of the effect.

4. New control fields for determining the length of both the Fade In & Fade out functions have been added.

5. The Fixed side function now supports ALL the wave types.

6. Improvements have been made to both the 2D & 3D wave algorithms which among other things help them handle Elevation much better.

7. The Preview function has also been improved (the check box has been moved to the Wave Parameters Tab) & a new Preview push button has been added - useful for very complex objects that might bog down the program (if the Preview was always operating) also, the Preview functionality under the Parameter tab has been expanded to include the ability to select the preview frame & a check box has been added to show the preview of the default frame as in previous versions (frame 10).

8. The hierarchial object mechanism has also been vastly improved resulting in much better & more predictable handling of these objects.

9. Various improvements have also been added to user interface including - the better handling of different & non standard resolutions & display fonts, the addition of access to the help file directly from the program etc.

WaveGenerator 1.01

Bugs fixes:

1. In the 1st. release there was a bug in the Ripple function that caused the flattening of objects right after the complete decay of the ripple - it has been fixed.

2. There was a problem with the KeyFrame Reduction tool whenever the division of the value of frames & KFR setting would not result in a whole number (40 & 3 for example) - it has been addressed.

Feature enhancements:

1. The ripple algorithm has been improved, resulting in slightly cleaner results especially when using meshes with a lower resolution.

2. The KFR algorithm has also been improved & it now handles ripples much better, also the Auto KFR check box has been replaced by a button to prevent confusion.

3. A new Ripple Decay control has been added in the Animation tab, with it you control, by frame number the time it takes the ripple to come down, the value will change automatically whenever you change the Amplitude of the ripple & can be manually overridden.

Notes:

1. We have encountered problems when running the WaveGenerator through the TSX Extender plug-in, we encourage users to run this plug-in directly from the native TSX launch panel.

2. If it so happens & in the Type tab whenever you are switching between wave types the bitmap hides the Preview function, than you should use bigger display fonts (you can it in the Windows Display control under settings or in your video card’s display control utility).
